Health and Safety

Why is Health and Safety Important?

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) advises that there is a legal obligation to provide information and training on health and safety to all employees, including full-time staff, new starters, and part-time employees. Temporary or agency staff, contractors, and other visitors should also be given the necessary information to conduct their activities safely and healthily.

Legal Requirements

The Health & Safety at work Act 1974 Section 2 (3) states:
If you employ 5 or more people it is a legal requirement to have a written Health & Safety Policy
Failure to have a written Health & Safety Policy can result in the serving of an Improvements notice by the Health & Safety Executive or Local Authorities.

The Importance of Health & Safety Practices

Health & Safety is something you have to take seriously. You are responsible for complying with all Health & Safety Regulations affecting your business. Good Health & Safety practices not only pay for themselves but also enhance your company’s image with employees and customers. Poor Health & Safety practices can lead to unnecessary illness and accidents, which can be fatal and have serious, costly repercussions.
